Spices of Life

{ Living Life by Ear }

The season two finale of October Road holds a special place in my heart. It wasn't the best finale I've ever seen. In fact, it was far from being the best, but I liked it best because it brought one of my favorite shows to an end. I watched the finale on satellite tv from Direc4u.com and I still have half of the season two episodes saved on my DVR.

In the finale, Eddie is pissed at Janet for sleeping with Rooster. Can you blame him? Also, we see Nick's little brother trying to move in on Nick's love interest. I couldn't wait to see where these characters would be in season three, and I was devastated to hear that October Road wouldn't be picked up for a third season.

The show had the potential to be great, but it kept shooting itself in the foot. The story of Nick, a guy who moves back to his home town after a ten year hiatus, was something I could relate to. However, I couldn't relate to the weird characters in his home town. Instead of pushing the story forward, the writers often chose to bring it to an annoying halt by throwing in tidbits of Physical Phil's weird life and his dealings with Pizza Girl.

Guest blogger Taylor Remus wrote this for me.
