Spices of Life

{ Living Life by Ear }

I have my own personal blog for all my homemade canned goods and my baking recipes, but I occasionally take pictures of my model and post them up on my blog. When I say my model, I mean my daughter, Sandya. She loves doing it (especially because she's helping Mom) but also she loves being the center of attention.

I think it really does help my blog traffic. It makes the entries more exciting and attractive looking. I will add an anecdote or something or will take pics of Sandya helping me bake, etc. I photographed her birthday party and the cupcakes we made (it was a baking birthday party) with all the guests. Messy?

Yes, but the kids really had a lot of fun, which is what is most important. How often do they get to make a mess and be told that it's okay? I think it's important. I find that if I involve her in the internet activities I do regularly, then she can be better about letting Mom do her blogging and checking email.

I bring my computer along to most of our outings, just in case. Because I use hughes net satellite I usually can prop up my laptop anywhere and upload pics. I blogged directly from the farmer's market the other day using my hughes net attica connection while travelling to Indiana visiting family.

We needed to stock up on organic strawberries for a big jam project and I typed up a quick entry right then and there. My home connection, using hughesnet Colorado, is awesome and extremely fast so I am able to get my blogs done extremely quickly and I can get back to more important things like making a delicious strawberry tart.

Big thanks to Patricia Wilson for the guest post
