I am addicted to my DVR! Thanks to my husband, I have started watching television again. Being more of a book reader, I never really went out of my way to catch a particular show on TV. Sure there were ones I enjoyed, but not enough to set a particular time aside for it.
That all changed when my husband became addicted to our DVR. He's a pretty busy guy. Within days of buying a DVR to go with our Satellite TV, he was hooked. He went from watching zero television to watching everything. Once he found his favorites, he put that recorder to use. He uses the Season Pass option to record full seasons of his shows and since we live in NY he is a huge fan of all the sports, so it’s a good thing we have satellite tv new york .We were even able to check future shows and record them individually. There are so many options.
My favorite part of the DVR is programming the channels so we don't have to flip through the ones we never use. I set our television to only show the channels that we like. That eliminated a lot of infomercials and gospel channels. I got into some of his shows, and now I am hooked.
The only thing that I don't like about the DVR is that he gets to hold the remote. Sure it's great that we can fast forward through commercials, pause, and rewind. But he's too obsessed with the rewind button. Try watching a basketball game with him rewinding every cool shot. It drives me crazy. He loves it though, and if that's the worst part of it, I'll take it.
