When I was young, I always marveled why we sing Christmas Carols throughout December but not in every single month of the year. However while growing up, I learned to love the songs because too often we could all hear the strings of holiday music in most retails stores or even in elevators particularly after the Thanksgiving.
Up to these days, I believe there are thousands of Christmas Carols available and readily downloadable online. They varied from religious to non-religious and custom to lifestyle. Here in US, you can find musical books in the retail stores or bookstores varying from spiritual to secular.
Based on my research, Christmas Carols have started and being introduced in the early 13th century but became extinct during the Protestant period in England although eventually being restored subsequently after some hundred years. According to some experts, Christmas Carols were sung during the darkest time of the year to feast the turn for longer days and to add brightness to the season.
However, in today's generation you could hear a great number of Christmas carol played in the airwaves, several of them were created based on stories, poems, chants and prayers, which make them more special in our hearts as they refresh one's memory about our family, customs or tradition and pleasant time of the year.
