Lance cpl. Joshua m. Bernard / Joshua Bernard Death Photo / Associated Press / AP Photo of a Dying Marine
Above picture is showing Joshua Bernard photo provided by US Marine Corps. Unfortunately, this brave guy was hit by a rocket propelled grenade that happened during an ambush from Taliban last 14th of August in the village of Dahaneh in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan.
The attack was captured by AP photographer Julie Jacobson who was embedded as a journalist with the US Marines to report the war.
I sympathized for the agony and deep pain of his parent as well as their unwillingness to have these photographs be posted in public viewing. Yet, concurrently I believe the American public has the right to be aware of what's going on in Afghanistan.
As the case may be, we choose to be impassive for the reason that we feel deprived of strength to do anything because we are clueless of the real scope about what's the real score over there.
I know this occurrence is heartbreaking and agonizing but we need to be reminded that thousands of families are living with this kind of nightmare. But photos and images like these restrain us from pleading ignorance aside from turning our heads and carry on with our normal lives without a tiny bit of thoughts as to what our young men in uniform are enduring in Afghanistan and Iraq.
An earnest thanks to his parents and loved ones for their son's sacrifice for America, I know GOD will take care of Joshua Bernard's soul, RIP to him.
