Remembering Apollo 11 moon landing today as forty years had passed when the whole world viewed men landed on the moon. This particular day which often discloses the hoax conspiracy theories about the 1969 Apollo 11 mission.
It was believed that the Apollo moon landing was a hoax presented by the US government to create an image to make Soviet Union conceived that US was eminent beyond technology. Conspiracy theorists hinted some inconsistency on the photos like the American flag fluttering on the airless moon.
But the most common conspiracy theories being claimed were debunked by National Geographic who analyzed the photos.
So why do you think the American flag was rippling in the moon? The spaceflight historian Roger Launius, has an answer for that question. He said, the footage you've seen where flag appeared to be waving it was because of the inertia from when they let go kept it moving and the astronaut just placed the flag there.
Moreover, the horizontal rod that holds the flag was accidentally bent when they placed it in several attempts thus created the appearance of a waving flag in the photos.

There are a lot of conspiracy theories about the Apollo 11 moon landing, and I don't think they will really ever go away. People will surely come back and hear these stories again and again because they are really interesting.
I didn't know about the explanation why the flag was rippling, that was really interesting to know. Thanks!
