Taiwan provides the excellent answers for any individual who wants to relax and recharge their body and mind in a natural way. As you can find plenty of geothermally hot springs across Taiwan. The warm waters of these springs, heated and stirred up by the earth's own energy, are believed to give comfort, rejuvenate and recharge our physical body.
Everytime I am unable to remember why I opted to lead a life in Taipei – more especially the humid and cold winter season – but I tried to relieve myself with the knowledge that respite from any state of depression, pampering yourself is not far away from reach. A couple of cities are boasting with plenty of world-class, volcanic activated hot water springs on their doorway. And hurray to Taipei’s most improved means of transportation, going out for a quick soak with cool beers within reach and a massage in a perfectly 60-degree-Celsius SPA has always been easy and less hassles.
Hot springs at Beitou
More or less of these springs were being deviated into health Spas and bath houses wherein you can get more pleasures soaking in water from a private pools and bathtubs while some conventional treatments are also provided.
At the same time, other springs stay entirely natural next to the rivers, or in the woods which are perfect to de-stress fatigued muscles from a long walk of wilderness.
A hot-spring spa
Beitou is one of the closest springs from Taipei - can be conveniently reach using the main MRT line. You can easily see the origin of the springs of Hell Valley with its bubbling sulfur. However, you can drop by and check out the Bathhouse Museum, an avant garde spa being used by the Japanese before- that includes Kamikaze pilots from World War II who were luxuriosly treated during their mission break at Beitou ahead of their given final assignments.
